Suede’s Green Dress

Suede won the green challenge on Project Runway with this dress, and they are selling 150 of them on BlueFly. I love the dress, on the show, and the one being sold. I really like the way it just looks thrown together on the show though, not on BlueFly. I guess that wouldn’t be too practical though.

Kelli Martin – Creative Design

I really liked a lot of the designers on Project Runway that didn’t make it so far. One of my original favorites was Kelli Martin. She’s from Ohio, and owns a boutique called Black Market. Her line is called Anti-Label: http://anti-label.com/.

Kelli is such a cute girl, and has one of the best leopard print tattoo that I’ve seen (because frankly, most of them suck).

She is really creative in her designs, and her first dress on PR (which is a couple of pictures down) was made out of bleached vacuum cleaner bags, and burnt coffee filters. How creative! I wish more people would get inspired, and take clothes they don’t wear that often and just alter them. So what if you ruin it, you don’t wear it anyway.. and if you don’t ruin it, you’ve probably made it better, and you’ll have something that no one else has.

  

Here is Kelli with the dress that she made to win the very first challenge on Project Runway, season 5. It is made entirely out of items purchased at the grocery store, and the back clasps are made from the rings of a notebook!

Start of Something

I was just checking up on my favorite Project Runway designer this season, Kenley Collins, and found out that she is selling some of her awesome dresses and fascinators on her website! If you guys really want to splurge a little, check it out: http://kenleycollins.com/shop/ Everyone may argue against me that Kenley had a bad attitude, and stole her designs, but honestly, her skill was impeccable, and if it wasn’t for her, I would have fallen asleep every week watching boring LeAnne and Korto. *snore* This dress from Kenley is under $400!!

So, speaking of LeAnne… although she was the most boring person on the face of the planet, she really did nail it when she said early in the season that she was the “Silent Fashion Assassin”. She has one dress for sale on her website, and it’s pretty cute. Her designs are so sleek, and I might talk shit, but I actually really liked them, and would have worn most of what she created. Korto, however, is another story. When she was on PR, I thought she had great taste, and classic designs. She must have lost it all when she left the show. Her website had the trashiest photography of her work, and her work had pretty much no class. I was really , because she seemed like she really had it together. I won’t even bother putting a link to her site, as it really sucks and hopefully no one is buying that stuff… The leopard thing at the top is hers.
